“Kinderhilfe in Namibia e. V.” is an organisation based in Germany, which was established by the Bavarian entrepreneur Mr Hans-Joachim Gomoll, Mr Gerhard Friedl (former Chief Editor of the Bavarian Broadcasting) together with some friends of Namibia in 1992. Originally the main objective of this organisation was the financial and moral support of the so-called former GDR – Namibian children through vocational training in Germany. So far, ten young German-Namibians have participated in this programme.
The high costs invested in the original programme did not render the expected results, so in August 1997 the chairpersons, Mr. Jochen Gomoll and Mr. Gerhard Friedl decided to transfer the activities to Namibia.
The funds for ”Kinderhilfe in Namibia” are mainly coming from private donors in Germany and the fundraising programme ("Sternstunden") of the Bavarian Broadcasting ((Bayerischer Rundfunk). Since 2002 "Kinderhilfe in Namibia e. V." is receiving funding from the German "Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development" (BMZ) for bigger projects in the education sector.
In addition to this „Kinderhilfe in Namibia e.V.“ is responsible for the administration of funds coming from various donors like LBS Baden-Württemberg, Irma-Pfeifer-Stiftung and Intensive SA (Swiss). We also want to mention the support coming from the communion children and the Catholic church community St. Martin of Linz/Rhein.

The basic decision taken was to assist young Namibian people with the following two programmes:
